Fashion Shoot

So, this was our first fashion-type shoot of all time! Woop! Jamie Radford, an amazing stylist at Twig Salon in Boulder, was the mastermind behind the fun. Jamie is an extremely talented stylist, very driven and to say the least, and is going places in her career. She has big dreams and is finding creative, awesome and exciting ways to work towards them. We designed this set of photos to specifically highlight her styling abilities - so check out the hairstyles in particular - they were definitely 'switched on.' We had such a blast getting to work with her on this, and are looking forward to collaborating again in the future. It was so cool to see how her incredible hair and makeup skills totally transformed the models! Needless to say, give her a ring if you are looking for a stylist...we highly recommend!

Our models, Janeese and Julie, were also awesome to work with. They happened to be sisters, and were totally naturals in front of the camera. Relaxed, confident, and so much fun...not to mention gorgeous, fo real!!! All in all, this was such a fun experience and we had a great time working together, hanging out on a Sunday afternoon @Twig and finding unique places to shoot downtown.

The post-processing in the photos is a little edgier, a little more fashion-y, than we typically use. We tried a variety of different effects and had some fun with a little more off-the-wall editing - let us know what you think!

OK, we're itching to post the set from the fashion shoot with the fabulous Jamie Radford of Twig Salon and her two amazing models, Janeese and Julie. The photos are looking bomber (at least the ones Laura took!), and here's a teaser time lapse we set up of the getting ready phase:

BTW, the two sections with no one there are when we went out to do each model's shoot. Keep watching to the end, there's an amazing surprise! (well, not amazing, but, uh, something anyway). (Aw, who am I kidding, the end is just me sitting in the chair with my thumbs up. Don't hold your breath ;) )

Mike & Natalie

Sometimes we feel like the culmination of our wedding experience turns into somewhat of a social experiment: we witness family dynamics, reactions to stress and pressure, emotions running high, traditions, expectations, and the exhilaration that comes when two people "take the plunge" into this thing called marriage. A few weekends ago, it was just a downright pleasure for us to witness Mike and Natalie as they just GLOWED all day long--at their absolute best on their wedding day. Natalie, looking gorgeous, was so calm, content, and confident; Mike was excited and happy, ready for his bride. He cried when she walked down the aisle, so moved by that epic moment in their lives.

BY THE WAY, these people know how to throw a par-tay! The details were amazing - meticulous even (can you say ice sculpture/martini bar?) They had an enormous bridal party, a crowd of guests that rocked the dance floor, and a quite elegant venue - the covered patio at the Omni Interlocken Resort! We had so so so much fun at this wedding, and even got to sit down with their guests to eat an UH-mazing meal at the reception. Wow.

We were honored to be a part of this wedding and feel really blessed to have crossed paths with these two awesome people. Congratulations Mike and Natalie!!! Enjoy the photos!

Catherine

Check out this girl!!! We have known Catherine for a few years now (she's the younger sister of our friend Matt) and she has always just been such a delight, so funny and cool waaaayyy beyond her years! Catherine is so generous and humble and caring...those qualities are so apparent in her, and, might I add, a bit rare to be shining so brightly in a seventeen year-old! She's a senior at Fairview this year, and we loved spending a Sunday afternoon capturing her sweet face in honor of this milestone in her life.

We also love love love her sense of style and the way she was able to express herself through her outfits and her sweet blue-sequined Cons! She totally worked it for us and was an awesome model. Thank you for being you, Cat! Hope you enjoy the photos!
